  • The Chicago Council of the Garden Club of America

Kenilworth Garden Club is privileged to be part of The Chicago Council of the Garden Club of America. The Chicago Council organizes programs and symposia, and meets periodically to support each clubs’ endeavors and to act as a sounding board for each other.

The Chicago Council is composed of the six GCA clubs in Illinois — Evanston Garden Club, Garden Guild of Winnetka, Kenilworth Garden Club, Lake Forest Garden Club, Winnetka Garden Club and The Garden Club of Barrington.

  • Civic Involvement

Kenilworth Garden Club actively participates in Village of Kenilworth affairs through its participation in The Kenilworth Council of Garden Clubs (Kenilworth Beautification), and the Kenilworth Citizens Advisory Committee (KCAC).

Kenilworth Beautification stewards projects that promote the enhancement of Village public spaces, rehabilitation of open lands, and seasonal public displays. Comprising representatives from the four local Kenilworth garden clubs, Mahoney Park, the Historical Society and other interested citizens, its meetings afford great collaboration between citizens, the Village Board and the Village Park District Board on matters that retain Kenilworth’s unique beauty.

The KCAC is a non-partisan committee whose role is to source candidates to fill the offices of the Kenilworth Village Board, the Joseph Sears School Board, the Kenilworth Library District, and the Kenilworth Park District Board, as well as delegates to the New Trier Township High School Caucus and other caucuses or organizations as requested. Membership includes delegates from more than 20 local member organizations, as well as representatives-at-large from four geographical Districts in Kenilworth.
